I hope everyone reading this is doing well 🙂
It feels like forever since I sat at my laptop writing an original blog post. As much as I love makeup posts, I started this blog to be an amalgamation of all things me and a way to help people that are going through similar life events. However, the more you go through, the harder it is to write it out because there are so many things swimming through my mind at any given moment as you’ll probably see as you read. Here are just a few things that I have been dealing with – I hope that hearing my story can inspire you to smile through your own journey.
I love my family so much, they are such a massive part of my life (mostly because there are so many of them!). I briefly touched on the fact that my younger brother recently got sentenced to some time in prison, he had been going through some troubled times with a group of friends he begun hanging around with and that was the end result. I won’t lie, it devastated me – we grew up so close and over recent years grew apart. I find it difficult not going to church every Sunday, so thinking of prison was terrifying.
How did I overcome this?
I haven’t fully of course, he will be in there till next June, but you have to take it one day at a time. I had to remember that it is not my fault, he is 18 and can make his own decisions. I think when something like this happens to someone close to you, you can easily feel a lot of guilt. I kept thinking that I should have forced myself to remain his best friend, but everyone has their own path to lead. What really helped was writing down how I felt and visiting him as much as possible. Trying to re-build our bond and be there for him in whatever way possible is really helping us both through this time. Making sure he always has visitors is like my own mini project, he is doing a course inside and keeping to himself which is really positive. Trying to keep positive is all we can do and hope this never happens again 🙂
OMG. Me and Sam have had so many ups and downs recently, from our first holiday to him starting his new career in engineering, at times its been a struggle with all the ups and downs. But we have made it through stronger than ever and have made the decision to start trying for a child in the new year. We are moving into a bigger place next month to accommodate for this and are super nervous but excited! We want to have around 3 children and want to have as much time with them as possible so want to start young! Let us know if you want more blogs on our journey 🙂
With everything happening in my personal life, it has been hard to get up for work everyday, but in the new year my cosmetics line is going to grow. New products, promotion and more, so be sure to keep a look out for it all!
To conclude, I want to end on a really positive note. I have learned this year that the best way to deal with an issue, whether it be in your head or your heart, whether it is to do with family or friends – face it head on. Talk about it. Then focus on what’s next, everyday brings a new 24hrs to start over and be happy. Always be positive and always express how you feel.
